Day 9
We leave Usciolu Refuge by 08.00 and descend to 1500m where we find
water at a hermit's house. We deny us a siesta hoping to be able to
reach Col de Verde and not just the Prati refuge. But it comes to
nothing; today's march is difficult (seems to be the same every day).
After a really hard ascent to 2000m the way goes constantly 50vm up
and down, until it adds up to at least 1000vm... when we finally reach
Prati (1840m) I'm all in, and we're surely not in the condition to
reach Col de Verde today.

Two hours later the radio group arrives, so we give them a hand sign
and a broad smile. It's really astonishing how the two girls master
the trip: they're still talking a mile a minute.
There's nothing more to say about this day; it's awfully cold and
pretty drafty up here, so we get into the warm sleeping bags really
early.
